Joey Ladouceur last won the Mr. DIRTcar Pro Stock overall championship back in 2004, and just six years later, he sits on top of the point standings, hoping to duplicate that accomplishment.  It has already been an outstanding season for Ladouceur and his team, from Alexandria, Ontario with 10 feature wins the Cornwall Speedway track championship, the Mohawk Race Parts Series Championship and now with just two races remaining, he leads the overall DIRTcar Pro Stock point standings.

Ladouceur traveled to the Rolling Wheels Raceway Park in Elbridge, New York on Saturday for the next round of the Pro Stock tour.  He set the pace early by setting fast time in time trials, and backed that performance up with a heat race victory.  As with all DIRTcar events, a redraw for the top 12 starting spots took place, and Ladouceur drew the ninth position.  As the race began, Ladouceur moved forward, and at the end of the feature, he was in third place.

Entering the night, Ladouceur was just nine points behind the leader in the overall series points, and with that third place run in his Coffrage 20-20, Mr. Radiator Auto Service, Fence Depot, Glengarry Truck Centre. Minimax Transportation, Stinger X Chassis, Ladouceur will take a 13 point lead into the next event.

“Our goal was to take the points lead back home with us, but we know Louie (Jackson) has run good at Rolling Wheels before,” said Ladouceur. “That’s what we had really hoped for coming out here.”

A lot of praise for the track conditions went out, and Ladouceur was quick to add his comments after getting out of the car.  “I have to give a lot of credit to the track staff, these were the best conditions I can ever remember for the heats. There were two distinct grooves and the track was smooth and fast. What else can you really ask for this time of year?”

Coming up next for Ladouceur will be the BNC Motorsports 25 lap MR. DIRTcar Pro Stock event at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse on Sunday, October 10th.  The season will then conclude on Friday, October 15th at the Brockville Ontario Speedway where Ladouceur hopes to be crowned 2010 Mr. DIRTcar Pro Stock Champion.
